Yellowstone National Park is a natural wonderland with opportunities to see geysers erupt and an abundance of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, and herds of bison and elk. With the park only a short drive for Big Sky, it makes for a great day trip or overnight camping trip. The park is open to visitors in the summer and wintertime with recreational activity available each season.
In the summer, take a long hike, camp out under the stars, or go for a peaceful kayaking trip on Lake Yellowstone. If you love to fish, Yellowstone is the prime location in Southwest Montana. Nowhere in the world will you find the variety of aquatic hatches like you will find Yellowstone National Park. The famed Yellowstone National River is considered to be one of the great trout streams of the world and is classified as a blue ribbon trout stream from the park to the confluence of the Boulder River.
Winter time the park is a special experience. It transforms into a frozen wonderland with great cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling. Take a snow coach into the park allowing you to cover many miles of this frozen land. Your guide will be able to spot out animals and educate you on the ecosystem of the park. We recomend Yellowstone Alpen Guides.
